Shangri La... Fat Bike and Mountain Bike (Intermediate)

Come join us for a fantastic opportunity to ride little known trails in our area.  Whether you ride a fat bike or mountain bike, this ride will be a great introduction to a little known trail system set up by our very own trail blazer Ron!

This is a great opportunity for fat bikers to preview some unknown trails that we will use this winter! We'll ride approximately 20 miles at an intermediate speed with minor elevation changes.

After the ride, those interested can meet for a post ride beer at Sun River Brewery! Address:57100 Beaver Dr,  Bldg 4, Sunriver, OR 97707

PLEASE NOTE: As the weather can change quickly at this time of year, please be sure to check back before the ride to see if there are any changes.  Provided the ride is a 'go', remember to dress warm and layer.

Ride Rating:  Intermediate; Endurance Rating E3.5, Technical Rating T2.5 (to see rating descriptions, click "More" tab above and select "Files"), About 3.5 hours.

Wow, if you click on that and set the image to map instead of satellite, look just to the south of where we where. There is a very interesting looking ridge with rockoutcroppings. Have you been there Ron? I want to see that!

Yes David! ... that is Wake Butte! It is really cool and has very unique rock formations. The 400 goes along the east side to FS highway 40 ... towards Crane/Cultus.

Anyone want to pick me up in Bend in the am? I can meet you anywhere in town. I plan on riding back to Bend on the trails.
I'll pitch in for gas, and we can ride bikes!

OK :-) .... for those with a 'Central Oregon Trail Map' (everyone I hope), this area is immediately south of the Edison Sno-Park trail system. If you look at the south end you will see the large snowmobile trail which they call the 2 trail. And then immediately south of that you will a network of old logging trails with numbers. There are many options for loops and a good 20 miles total. To me. native central Oregonian, this area exhibits the epitome of central Oregon with large old Ponderosas and clumps of lava flows throughout. It is a great place to ski and bike in a quiet corner of classic central Oregon woods!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
