Fat bike ride at Peterson Ridge-Dog Friendly

Let's ride up to the first picnic table on the Peterson Ridge Trails!  We've packed down the trails and the riding is great!  We'll ride a total of 10.9 miles and ascend 866 feet. After the ride, we can grab some lunch and/or a beer at Three Creeks Brewery which provides us with a perk of a discounted first beer.

Nothing better than creating our own single tracks!  Let's keep packing down the trail to keep us riding out there all winter if possible.

As we start to ride in the colder weather we all need to take a few extra precautions and be prepared for problematic situations. Bring a phone and have in mind someone who you could call if needed.  My number is [masked], please add it to your phone prior to the ride so that you can call me if you have a mechanical issue!  Bring hand warmers, food, and a basic survival kit. Wear lots of layers. Wear winter/specific clothing. Err on the side of warmth with your hands and feet. If you don't have winter shoes use warm shoe covers. If you wear something a little light make it your coat, but bring an extra. Please review Gary's tips for winter riding and pack accordingly (see Discussion page)

Bike Rating: Intermediate; IMBA More Difficult (Blue) due to snow.  http://files.meetup.com/7699322/IMBA%20Trail%20Difficulty.jpg

No go at Peterson Ridge trails due to closure for soft conditions. Fun pedal up to Three Creeks Lakes from snow park made for an enjoyable alternative ride! Thanks for hosting Pat!

Thanks everyone for your flexibility and great cycling skill on road, ice and soft snow. Mileage for this ride was close to exact but we definitely got more elevation that we had planned! Pray for snow..

I think I may rent too. My dog Dixie will be new to Mtn. biking. She may not make it the whole way up to the table. But we will give it a try ..

Don't worry Don, I think this ride is a bit of an experiment. I have applied a new casing to my tires for better snow traction made of a heated treated silica/recycled bubble gum compound and I can't even pry my bike from the living room floor!

David, how tall are you? I have a large Surly Pugsley available at Hutch's eastside shop. May have a fleet of rentals coming in at the end of the week as well. Jeff

I'm 6'1. That may work nicely. I might just rent a fat bike for a couple days.
