What we’re about
Do you love bikes? Looking for people to ride with on a mountain bike, gravel/adventure bike, road bike, touring bike, fat bike, or tandems? Are you 18 years or older? Then this is YOUR tribe.
Bend Area Cycling Enthusiasts (BACE) offers a variety of organized bike rides, some ending at breweries. Some harder, some easier, some more technical. Many close to Bend, some include camping overnight or a few hours of carpooling. And sometimes, we are joining races as a group. It all depends on the ride organizer. (If you can't figure out if you belong on a ride, just text the ride organizer.) It's all about riding safe, while having a blast. Meeting new people to ride with or helping you coordinate with your riding buddies.
And speaking of ride organizers, the BEST way to ride your DREAM route at YOUR pace that works for YOUR schedule is to become an organizer. Drop Gravel Girl (Linda English) a note or text her at 541 550 8930.

See all- Gravel Bike and Birding Event - Bend City Nature ChallengeOld Mill Bridge, Bend, OR
This year, Bend will have its first-ever City Nature Challenge through efforts of Think Wild and supported by Dirty Freehub. The City Nature Challenge is a global event that encourages citizen science to find and document wildlife observations while reducing the barriers for people to connect with nature. We will be recording our observations through the iNaturalist app.
A few things to know: this is going to be a ride emphasized on the city nature challenge so although we will be riding, expect there to be some time to stop and collect data / images for the challenge.
- You will be traveling on multi-use paths with other cyclists and pedestrians.
- We will be using the Dirty Freehub route called Townie which was designed specifically to inspire you to learn the secret ways to commute by bike around Bend and avoiding traffic. While you will see end up on some roads with cars, we did our absolute very best to avoid the cars. We recommend bringing a red blinky light.
- This is not a supported event.
- Download the iNaturalist app for iPhones or Android.
