We will be coming from Prineville, so should we meet everyone at the trailhead? (that is, if we get off the waitlist!)

    • Mark D.

Amanda, you've cleared the waitlist. So I suggest you hook up with us at the Starbucks in Prineville around 10AM. We'll be meeting Judy and her little black dog Cindy at that same Starbucks. We'll carpool/caravan out to the Blue Ridge Mine where we'll begin our exploration.

Will do, Mark. We will be in a black dodge ram with a red cattle dog in the back.

I hope I changed my RSVP in time for someone on the waiting list to jump in. I'm extremely bummed that I won't be up for this event. You guys have a great time, and take pictures!

So sorry you won't be able to make this one, Tom. I expect we'll want to do this one again in the spring. Please remind me if I forget! Take care, my friend.

My fiance and I went to check out the mines today since we wont be able to make it tomorrow. It's pretty cool up there. Be prepared for a decent amount of snow! 8)

Thanks for the info, Angie. Glad you got to go up there!

I'm not going to be able to make this one after all! Turns out that tomorrow is going to be a ski day! Have fun everyone! This looks like a really awesome place.

Sorry to change my RSVP - I really want to see this area, but the weather tomorrow doesn't look good for driving ! I'll catch you next time. Mark - I won't be at the PB Post Office.

OK, Connie. I understand. Look forward to seeing you at another time.

I'm confirmed for the tour. So where do I meet you? Coming to Prineville? If so, Starbucks at 10? Let me know., This sure sounds like fun

Thanks Judy, but I think we'll just meet the group up there, since we live out hwy 26 a little past prineville. Lucky to have a short drive.

Judy, we can meet you at the Starbucks in Princeville like we did last Sunday. Look for us around 10 AM.

This looks like its going to be a very interesting place! Do you know how far the hike is and if this will be off-leash? Also, since I am coming from Redmond, should I also meet at the Powell Butte post office? Thanks!

    January 7, 2014

    • Mark D.

Yes, meeting up at the Powel Butte P.O. sounds good. I do not think this will involve a long hike as these mines are located pretty close to one another. This will be more of a rambling stroll. Dogs off leash are OK.

Both Ed and I are looking forward to coming on Sunday and bringing our lab, Quinny. Since this is our first time, do we bring our lunch or just snacks?

    January 7, 2014

    • Mark D.

Please bring whatever you, Ed & Quinny want to eat. We'll probably have a sit down in the ghost town or by some abandoned mine site where we'll all eat whatever we bring. I usually bring a couple of energy bars and an apple or banana to munch on. Others bring sandwiches. We're very informal, so just bring whatever will satisfy you. This will not be a strenuous outing as I expect we'll just be rambling around looking at the ruins. Important thing is to bring enough water for you two and your dog!

I see snow in the forecast, so that means that my dog Ned and I will be skiing! :)
We look forward to meeting up with everyone another time!

    January 7, 2014

    • Mark D.

Have fun with Ned in the snow, Karen! We should be doing some snow shoe hikes soon if the snow cooperates. Stay tuned!

Darn...sounds great, Mark. Unfortunately, I'm leaving town again on Friday and gone through mid next week. Have fun and I'll look forward to next outing.

Since I live in Powell Butte, would it be possible to meet up at the Powell Butte Post Office - corner of Hwy 126 and the Powell Butte Hwy (I'm guessing you are going east through Prineville). I can share my cell phone if needed.

    January 6, 2014

    • Mark D.

Sure Connie. Send me your cell phone number privately so I can alert you when we are approaching Powel Butte.
