Let's Walk the Deschutes River Trail!

We will enjoy a leisurely hike along the Deschutes River of about 3.5 miles.  From the parking area, we will walk to the Bill Healy Bridge and then to the footbridge crossing the river.  From the footbridge, we will continue our hike on the west side of the Deschutes.  Weather permitting, there is a beautiful area slightly off the trail where we can relax, take photos, and have a bite to eat.  This area is not usually seen because it's under water.  Farewell Bend Park at the Old Mill.

Meet near the "flying kayaks" (by the restrooms) behind the Parks and Recreation Building on the corner of Columbia and Shevlin-Hixon. There is parking behind the building and also at the Old Mill dog park.

All of our dogs must be leashed on this popular trail.

Hi Thomas! Thank you for adding to our hike with your photos! I enjoyed "exchanging" dogs with you during the hike. Harvey and Willow are such nice dogs!

Sorry, Lady has an injury to her front left leg and is limping. Better let her rest tomorrow.

I'm leaving Lady at home to rest today. But I'm coming and will take Marlena's Alex big boy out for this hike!

Thank you so much, Mark! Alex would rather be out on a walk than on his bed at home. Best wishes for Lady's quick recovery!

Hi! Randy, Whiskey, and I are looking forward to this. What is the correct start time? This says 2:00 but the email says 3:00. Thanks, Jessi

Jessi, We will miss you if you can't make it ...just get better! I would like to post this hike on Deschutes River Trail at least twice each month to give our group a chance to get together for on-leash fun, training, and socialization.

Thank you, Mark and Marlena. I will have to sit this one out :-( but DEFINITELY want to make the next one you organize here. Great idea to do this a couple of times a month!
