Our own Bend Canine Friends member Oakley is planning a huge party for the benefit of two worthy non-profit organizations here in Bend. All monetary donations will be for the benefit of Equine Outreach Rescue and Sanctuary. (http://www.equineoutreach.com). In addition, material donations will be accepted for the benefit of Bend Spay & Neuter Project. (http://www.bendsnip.org). They are in need of items such as bleach, laundry detergent, towels, sheets, blankets, dish soap, paper towels, dog & cat food & more. There will be food, drinks, music & other entertainment for the party goers. There will also be a raffle of various prizes for those who purchase raffle tickets.

This big party is still in the planning stages. As more info becomes available we will share it with our members.

Let's all go out and help Oakley make this fundraiser a huge success!

Will be going for sure. If it was not for EO, I would not have my "Kip" (Formerly "Gypsy George").

This note is from Oakley Taylor: Morning people. We are now about 9 days out for Buster's Birthday Benefit Bash. Hopefully some of you are seeing the flyers around town. Radio announcements begin on the 14th. We still need a few more prepared dishes for the event. Although there will be food venders for the public, we would like to feed the entertainers and volunteers. By bringing a dish, you would be involved with the potluck and thus, sharing of the delicious food that folks are contributing. We would like to suggest bowls of either pasta, green or potato salad or a crock pot of your choice. Please email me with food contribution. We expect a large crowd and lots of fun and support. It would be nice if we could put a copy of the flier on here. What do you think, Mark? Thanking you in advance...........

Hi all. We are getting ready to print our final fliers in the coming week. They will be posted in several places and we have also been donated radio time on Combined Communications. It is also likely there will be an ad in the Source. The suggested donation is $10. We will have venders, live music, petting zoo and of course, the K9 Kings. On the sidelines, we are making a list of those who would like to contribute a prepared food item to feed entertainers and join in a potluck. Venders will be present to sell to the public. If you are willing to bring an item of food to share (such as potato salad, crock pot of chili, pasta salad, etc, please let me know). Also Worthy Brewing is another one of our sponsors. We hope to raise not only funds for Equine Outreach (abandoned and abused horses) but also items for Bend Spay and Neuter. Thanks, again, Mark. :-) Some great prizes will be raffled off. Prizes will be posted on our Facebook page.

Hi Jessi. It would be a little hypocritical for us not to allow animals. Since there will be other animals performing and a petting zoo, I would say that yes, you can bring your canine pets but they will have to be on a leash and sociable. How does that sound?

Excellent! We're looking forward to it. Thanks!

Good question, Jessi. I'll check with Oakley!

I can't attend but I can donate something. How would I do that?

Hi Sue, I sent you a private message about that. Thanks so much for wanting to help with a donation.

Perfect! Mark, great job on this posting! The event is really picking up momentum! There are several venders and musicians that will be attending our event as well as food venders. We are still approaching a few of the breweries for contributing a keg or two of beer. We have quite a few nice raffle prizes and expect to have even more before our final flier comes out. We also have sponsoring from Combined Communications for advertising on the radio. If anyone has something to contribute for more raffle prizes, it would be appreciated. There will also be a petting zoo for the kids. The event is coming together nicely and we expect a great turnout. We hope to rally for the horses and domestic pets. Thanks for spreading the word, Mark!
