Beat the heat with an early morning stroll upstream of Farewell Bend Park along the Deschutes River.
You should park at Farewell Bend Park on Reed Market Road and meet at the old footbridge over the Deschutes that has the metal sculpture of the draft horse in front of it. If you are late, catch up with us.
We will walk upstream on the west side of the river, under the Bill Healy Bridge and follow the Deschutes River Trail, stopping at various picnic tables to rest and sketch along the way. Hardy folks may want to continue the loop upstream 1.5 miles and cross the South Canyon footbridge, returning along the east side of the river.
