Critique - Everyday Objects

Find everyday objects from around your home. From your kitchen, from your garage, from your living room - it doesn't matter.  It can be something exquisitely beautiful - or something mundane. Be creative. Choose your subject. Think about composition, lighting, dept of focus. Submit 3 to 5 pictures. Send them to Robert as attachments to: [masked] You will get an acknowledgement by e-mail.  Send them no later than 48 hours before the Meetup.

Thanks to Jill for this idea.

Let's try a little experiment with the format of the meeting. We'll spend less time critiquing individual photographs. Instead - let's give a special recognition to three categories.

1. Most interesting subject.

2. Best technique (composition, lighting, focus etc)

3. Best set of pictures.

No prizes - just for fun. Bring a pen and a scrap of paper.

My iPhone 4S takes pretty darn good pictures.

Cell phones can take some very good photos. I use Camera + on mine, and it allows me to choose the focus point AND where the camera gets its exposure info. That allows for more control over the creative process and final result. Worth the small price for an app with a high rating from users, as it can help you take better pictures.

I am trying to turning off the emails I get from groups except the initial announcements or changes. I am getting flooded with emails. I tried changing the settings, but it did not work.

The quality of the photos continues to climb. Last night was no exception with consistently interesting, creative and technically good photos.

I do not have a DSLR so you will have to put up with my not so fancy photos.

That's not a problem. You can still take "fancy" photos, with a not so "fancy" camera. Just keep being creative!

The best yet! Strong images, informative comments, WONDERFUL peer fellowship, and, as usual, very well organized. The photographs and member participation raised the bar for future critiques. Thank you Jill Duncan for suggesting the theme - highly successful.

4 days to our meeting. Remember to send all those great pictures to Robert by Saturday so he has time to organize them before the event.
