Was a very pleasant and informative evening with the group. This was my first time attending ... everyone made me feel welcome. A very comfortable setting to ask questions. Glad I went! Thank you everyone!

Great discussion, thanks folks! I enjoy others articulating what I only think about abstractly. I am still an experimenter, not expecting perfection- but aiming to improve my technical ability to express my internal vision. I enjoy presenting my 'experiments' with photography and receiving feedback in a supportive environment.

Another great Meetup! Great Photos, good, friendly, constructive Critiques; I learned about Macro photography, and Digital Post Processing and how to improve my image quality in Post Processing. And I met some great people there. I also learned at the meetup after the Meetup, I need to upgrade my camera (I knew that.). :-)

Good photos! Thanks to the ones that came and made it a fun critique!

Well, sadly as of last night, I only got photos from about 6 people, including myself and Tom Ryan, who of course, won't be there. I won't have time to gather more photos after work and before meetup. So, if you plan to come, I guess you just need to bring a flash drive with only the photos you want to share.
    Thanks!

These 12 hour work days! I'll bring a few photos to add. My apologies for not getting them to you sooner, Aaron.

I love Macro photography! Back in my film days, I bought my first OM-1 Olympus 35mm SLR Kit which included the OM-1 body, winder-2 2.5FPS Power Winder and a 50mm f1.8 Olympus Lens and a Leather case I bought a Tokina ATX-525, a 50mm - 250mm f4-f5.6 (5x) Zoom lens with Macro focusing down to 9". I also acquired 2 doubler lenses: A 4-element Sakar and a 7-element Tokina. With all 3 lenses on my OM-1, I had a Macro capable of focusing at 2.25 inches and Magnification ratio from 1.8:1 to 7.2:1 (with all 3 lenses together). I've been hooked on Macro Photography ever since I first used the Macro in my Tokina ATX-525 Lens on my Olympus SLR.

I could Macro photograph just about anything; Lately, I've been (Macro) focusing on Flowers and Insects. Let me know when, where and how many pictures to submit for the Macro Photo Critique.

One last thought: Isn't a Macro Critique like Micro-Managing? That's why our meetup is a Macro Photography Critique; Yes?

To anyone reading this: comments online and at Meetups are best received if kept short and sweet. It's like cropping a photo to the essential elements.

April 8 is my birthday, so I probably won't be able to make it - family wants to celebrate.

Sorry Mary. Just too much to do this week and this was the only day available at the library. Please upload some photos and have a happy birthday!

Aaron - no problem. Anyone going will now have LOTS of time to get those four incredibly creative photos sent to you!

As for having our critiques at the library, we are limited on time, but not space. I think we can seat up 75 people, but since the library closes at 8pm, I have to limit the amount of photos to critique. So anyone is welcome to come and see, but I have to limit photo count to 60. That's about 2 minutes. Even at that we have to move fast to get everyone in. The last one there, we had 63 photos, but had to move fast near the end to see all of them. Thanks!

Please hold off on sending any photos till after we get a date set. Otherwise, it could get lost somewhere in my email and never found again. Thanks.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
