This was intended as a foreground/background image for our assignment. It was a life or death mistake for this bird, because he totally mistook a solid glass window for open sky and hit it at high speed. The dirt on his body was transferred to the window by the terrific impact. It is an interesting photo once you realize what it is, but that requires explanation. In addition to that it requires the viewer to put himself into the birds mind an instant before impact, when he realizes his foreground/background mistake. A photograph is usually self explanatory, but not this one, and so the venue for viewing it was inappropriate. But, look at the transferred detail in full size - it's amazing. The main photo manipulation was blackening the dirty window around the bird's transferred image.

Very cool Charles. Sad for the dumb bird - but interesting.
