Ok gang... can you believe it? Two weeks from this Sunday the Cincinnati Bengals officially kick off the NFL (pre)season versus the Dallas Cowboys!
Ok, so the game means nothing. Likely, there will be no starters in there. Let's use this occasion to prime ourselves for the upcoming season with a Sunday "Happy Hour".
The Hall of Fame game is the first game of the preseason and will air on Nat'l TV Sunday 8/8 at 5pm.
We have already had a few new arrivals to the crew in the offseason... hopefully we can all get together for an hour or two on the 8th to meet and have a pint in anticipation for the season. I really hope all of you newcomers to the group can make it. It'll be great to meet. Additionally, we can give Pete & Amy a proper Bengals sendoff as they move (back) to Cincinnati for work prior to the season.
Also, we can chat about anyone interested in going to the MNF game IN Cincy vs. Pitt. If we are still doing it, we should hammer out those details on this day (11/8).
So... the game matters little, but will serve as an excellent backdrop for a reunion and libations. We can remind those at the 35er that this is a Bengals bar (even before the season begins) and have a little fun for an hour or two! Of course, our usual bartender (Garrison) will be there at least through halftime...
Come on down and let's (un)officially kick off the season!!! Can you believe it? 48 days til 1st game of the regular season!
This is THE OFFICIAL Los Angeles area fan group to watch the Cincinnati Bengals.
The LACBB watches all Bengals games LIVE in EAGLE ROCK (about 12 minutes NE of downtown LA), and bleeds Orange and Black.
If you are in the LA area and want to watch the games with fellow Bengals fans, then this group is for you. Eagle Rock/Pasadena is just up the road from Downtown LA... and only a few minutes from Burbank, Glendale, etc.
We have an ideal setup at a local bar in the Northeast area. Great Booze, great prices, and the NFL Sunday ticket to take in all the games at once! This is arguably the best place in LA to see every NFL game at one time without leaving your seat.
The Cincinnati Bengals Fans are always given preferential treatment with regards to the location of their TV, surround-sound volume on every Bengals game, and great drink specials... all despite there being representatives of every NFL team at the bar. The Orange & Black are #1, every week.
Here's what has been said in a recent article in the LA WORD:
"Like most NFL teams, there are places from Palmdale to Pamona to watch the Cincinnati Bengals play football. I have seen 30 fans in numerous locale(s)... not surprising given their USC ties. That said, Pasadena, CA is THE place to be if you are a diehard fan. A little bit of Cincinnati seems to own a chunk of this killer sports bar in the Northeast. The Bengals' biggest fans root there. Their group is not yet giant in size, but will be soon. Jump in before the bandwagon fills up."
