I agree with independent voices but I have listened to WBAI and they don’t represent me very well.

WBAI is in a serious financial crisis. It needs to raise $500,000 to pay for their transmitter at the Empire State Building. They have had many crises in the past, but this is the worst according to radio hosts. It will definitely go off the air if it can't raise this total amount in the next couple of weeks. Their fund drive was supposed to end in Feb. but was extended into March.
Once it goes off th e air, it will not be able to return. 99.5 FM will be silent until another entity gets the band width.
I can't imagine the radio without WBAI. It is where you can find out the truth of what is going on in our country and the world commercial -free . NPR does not provide the in-depth information that WBAI does, so it is not an alternative for me. With all th e problems our country faces, we need WBAI more than ever. It is also a place where I am glad to hear alternative music and cultural program s without interruptions.
I gave to the fund drive in Feb., but I just contributed again. I hope you will too - any amount helps. Then see if you can get one or more other friends to donate.
