The 2013 edition of CaFFEET is coming soon, organized by global energy company EDF, the Consulate of France in San Francisco and PRIME in partnership with the Electric Power Research Institute.
It will focus on "How Can Big Data Boost Society's Resilience" and will take place on November 21st and 22nd, 2013, hosted by Stanford University.
The event will feature several keynotes by leaders in the fields of big data and resilience (including EDF, INRIA, C3 Energy, IBM, Oracle, The Hive, Resilient Corp), and four panel sessions:
- Big Data and Resilience for Governments - panelists include the CIO of Palo Alto, OECD's risk expert, FivebyFive founder, Chief Scientist of PredPol.
- Big Data and Resilience for Infrastructure - panelists include EPRI's ICT Director, MIT Professor/NSF's Chief Scientist for Cyber Security grant, Orange's Head of Utilities, PG&E's R&D Manager for Gas Operations.
- Big Data and Resilience against Natural Disasters - panelists include representatives from Twitter, Stanford, University of Illinois.
- Big Data and Resilience against Climate Change - panelists include AECOM's Sustainabiliy Director, representatives from Stanford, HP, INRIA.
