Do you like to play board games, word games, card games, trivia games, and social games? Examples include: Taboo, Outburst, Boggle, Scrabble, Qwirkle, hearts, Wits and Wagers, Balderdash, Anomia - the list goes on and on. We are a board gaming group that has been meeting every other week in or around Berkeley since the 1980s. We currently meet on alternate Thursdays from 7 to 10 pm at Espresso Roma, on the corner of Ashby and College Avenues, near the Elmwood Theatre. If you can't make it at 7, or can't stay until 10, that's fine, too. Just come when you can and stay as long as you like. We typically play fast paced, social, multi-player games. Two-player games and lengthy, complex strategy games are not really our thing, but if there's a game you want to play, and you have it, bring it with you and suggest it. We're pretty open minded, and we love to meet (and play games with) new people. Parking is challenging but usually free when you find it, and the area is well served by AC Transit and not too far from Rockridge and Ashby BART stations. They serve a full menu of salads, soups, sandwiches, pizzas, coffee/espresso drinks, beer, wine, etc. at reasonable prices, and they don't seem to mind that we occupy their back room for three hours. We have no formal membership or rules, and there's no cost to join or participate. I've been attending fairly regularly since 1991.
