This is an update on the Polyamory Film Festival, happening
TONIGHT: Friday Evening, JULY 20, 7 PM - 10:30 PM in Berkeley.
NOTICE THIS IS A DISTINCT EVENT FROM THE POLY PARTY HAPPENING TOMORROW NIGHT, AND REQUIRES A SEPARATE RSVP]
We do have a few spots open for this event tonight (some last minute cancellations).
The current plan is still to show the classic PAINT YOUR WAGON, in honor of Polyamorous Pioneer Day. We also have episodes of the TV series BIG LOVE as the second feature. (I have episodes SEASON 1, #1-#12. Attendees can vote on which particular episodes we actually watch).
There was some discussion about showing episode #1 of SISTERWIVES, but two of the people who cancelled at the last minute are the ones with the DVD disks, so that's off the table unless someone else out there has them.
Likewise, the hope of showing Episode #1 & #2 of POLYAMORY: MARRIED AND DATING is not happening either. The people with the necessary technology and the recorded shows are no where in sight as of this afternoon, so that's not in the cards this time. (Be great to have this going next time).
SO...would have been nice, but we'll just stick to the original basic plan...

What follows is the original unaltered announcement
In Honor of Polyamorous Pioneer Day, this month's film will be PAINT YOUR WAGON, a wildly exaggerated, Hollywooded-up, highly fictionalized (but neverthless
somewhat realistic) story
about the polyandrous Fourcade family who actually lived in Santa Cruz during
the 1850s. (The tale is about two Gold-Rush era California miners who strike it
rich and agree to be the simultaneous "husbands" of the same woman). The movie
features both Lee Marvin & Clint Eastwood singing, (!) but other than that it is
an entertaining (and polymamorous) flick.
We are requesting a $3 donation to cover cost of snacks etc, but no one turned
away for lack of funds.
(You are also allowed to bring snacks to share, but they must be simple items
requiring no additional preparation, and you if you bring something, you must be
responsible for cleaning up any mess caused by what you bring before you go
Notice this is an entirely SEPARATE event from the poly party which happens the
next day. Attendence at the Poly Film Festival requires a separate RSVP, and
vice-versa. Because of spacing limitations, seating is VERY limited. We only
have room for about 11 people for the film. This is an event that requires
people to show up on time, and it doesn't work well to have people banging on
the door half-way through the movie, so plan accordingly.
