Dinner at Cafe Gratitude

Hi, fellow plant munchers,

Can it be true that we haven't been to Cafe Gratitude in almost four years?! You guys seem to like it, so I Am Returning (with you). As you may know, this small chain serves up an extensive menu of delicious raw, organic dishes with names such as "I Am Cool," a fantastic mint chocolate shake, and "I Am Elated," their enchilada of the day. Everything is gluten-free or can be made so. And the desserts are to die for—seriously, save room. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic. It's a fun, although sometimes loud, place to eat and people watch.

You can take BART to Downtown Berkeley and walk a few blocks up Shattuck. Cafe Gratitude is on the left (west) side.

Please don't respond yes unless you *know* you can attend. There's almost always room at add yourself late, so it's better to wait until you're sure rather than not show or change your response less than 24 hours before the event. If you do either twice, you'll be removed from the group. I really don't want to have to do this, so please be respectful of the restaurants, me, and your fellow members.

When you arrive, check in with me so I can mark you "present" and give you a name tag.

Also, please chip in a couple bucks, either on the Meetup site or at the event, to reimburse me for Meetup fees and to help keep the group going. Thanks a bunch!

See you at dinner,

John

I see I've received a few "likes' pertaining to my review - so others, apparently, have agreed with some of us - good to know - thankyou.

I'd heard about Café Gratitude for years, and was looking forward to trying it - unfortunately, very disappointed with the atmosphere, though the dinner was tasty. All sorts of little problems occurred around the table, as several of us agreed - hopefully, next dinner will go more smoothly.

I couldn't even keep up with all the conversation going on around me. I wanted to listen to two at once! Cafe Gratitude had my reservation but didn't reserve a table for us, which was a drag. Still, we managed to squeeze in. The food was delicious, as always--especially the desserts.

As usual, very friendly group with diverse interests. Cafe Gratitude was OK. I look forward to attending future events as well.

Hi, I have just joined this group. Are children welcome at this event?

    July 26, 2013

    • John

Welcome, Marie. Yes, well-behaved children are welcome at these events. Be sure to respond to the RSVP with a guest so there's a seat reserved for your child.

I got injured last night at the gym, so I think I should let someone else take my spot.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
