Hi, fellow plant munchers,
This time around, I'm posting plenty early. Note that we'll meet this time at 8:00.
Did you think vegan fast food was a contradiction in terms? Nope. Nature's Express has been dishing it out since 2010. They serve all kinds of burgers, wraps, burritos, sandwiches (Reuben, "tuna"-melt, or BLT, anyone?), plus plates and smoothies—even gluten-free cookies. Yum! I probably shouldn't write these when I'm hungry.
And get this: Nature's Express was the first restaurant in North America to have a fully non-GMO menu verified by the Non-GMO Project. No renegade DNA in my food, thank you.
I hadn't scheduled a Meetup at NE only because I knew their seating was limited, but just for us, they're going to let us eat there after their usual closing time so we can use all the seating they have. (Aw-w-w, isn't that nice?) That's why we're meeting at 8:00.
Still, space is limited, so please don't respond yes unless you *know* you can attend. There's usually room at add yourself late, so it's better to wait until you're sure rather than not show or change your response less than 24 hours before the event. If you do either twice, you'll be removed from the group. I really don't want to have to do this, so please be respectful of the restaurants, me, and your fellow members.
When you arrive, check in with me so I can mark you "present" and give you a name tag.
Also, please chip in a couple bucks, either on the Meetup site or at the event, to reimburse me for Meetup fees, and to help keep the group going. Thanks a bunch!
See you at dinner,
P.S. If you like art, you can check out (or better yet, buy) some of my night photography at SLATE contemporary gallery tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 6, 6pm-9pm) during Oakland Art Murmur. The show runs through Oct. 5.
