Brunch at Fellini

  • September 25, 2010 · 11:00 AM

Hi fellow plant munchers, We haven't had brunch together, or been to Fellini, for a while, so let's! It's a mixed (veg/non-veg) Italian restaurant that has a really good weekend vegan brunch. They have tofu scrambles and french toast, plus Vegan Florentine and Vegan Benedict. Yum! And a cool orange-juice maker you can watch in action. By the way, Souley Vegan is readying its own vegan brunch menu for maybe as soon as next month. It's already on my list. And there will be a vegan Filipino restaurant in Oakland that may be open in time for us to eat there in October. As always, please be considerate of your fellow plant eaters and RSVP yes only if you have every reason to believe you will be able to make it. And thanks to those who change their RSVPs well in advance so people on the waiting list can make plans to attend. I pay Meetup $180 per year to organize this group. Of course, that doesn't include my time and energy. If people chip in a couple bucks, it will reimburse me. You can do it here on the website or in person (please remember) at the event. It's in addition to your meal and much appreciated. Thanks a bunch! See you at brunch, John

As at the two previous Bkly Vegan Dinner meetups I've attended, I thoroughly enjoyed all the wide-ranging conversations with everyone I had a chance to speak with -- people that I've met at the Meetups are always interesting, intelligent, and culturally well-rounded. Once again, it was a bit frustrating, because of the lengthwise seating, and the noise level, which meant I couldn't manage to hold a conversation with anyone who wasn't immediately adjacent to me.

Most everyone had a good time. The Fellini manager was unnecessarily troubled by how many of us there were, even though I had made a reservation. Anyway, tut the food was good and the conversation lively.

Mimi, there's no official end time. We usually finish eating in an hour to an hour and a half, but people can chat as long as they like.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
