Announcing a new Meetup for The Berkeley Philosophy Meetup Group!
What: Philosophy Talk live show on "Faces, Feelings, and Lies" with Paul Ekman
When: Sunday, January 31, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: The Marsh, 1062 Valencia St., San Francisco
Price: $20.00 per person

Stanford University philosophers John Perry and Ken Taylor, hosts of Philosophy Talk, the Bay Area's favorite philosophy radio show, will be taping two live programs at The Marsh in San Francisco.
Our meetup will be for the 3:00 p.m. show with UCSF psychologist Paul Ekman on Ekman's area of expertise, “Faces, Feelings, and Lies”:

You will need to buy tickets through The Marsh's website:
The show is 90 minutes long and costs $20. Your payment helps keep the program on the air.

There will also be a separate Philosophy Talk show at 12 noon with the same hosts and guest Marilyn Yalom, author of A History of the Wife, on "What is a wife?"
This show also costs $20, or you can pay $35 for both shows.

Note: no one under 16 years old will be admitted to either show, because somebody has deemed it to be "not appropriate" for them.

The Marsh is near the 24th & Mission BART station.

RSVP here:

To hear some idea of what a live Philosophy Talk program at The Marsh is like, listen to KALW 91.7 FM at 10 a.m. on Sunday, January 24. That show was taped in October, with guest Hubert Dreyfus on the topic of Nihilism. Some members of the Berkeley Philosophy Meetup Group asked questions that you'll hear on the show!
