Let's explore Hay Creek & Birdsboro Reservoir

Meet at Rustic Park in Birdsboro. From 422, take 82 South into Birdsboro. Don't take the detour; continue straight on old 82 through Birdsboro, all the way to the road closure. Rustic Park entrance will be on the right-hand side at location of road closure. Eleven+ mile hike in the Hay Creek Watershed area, including a walk by the Birdsboro Reservoir. About 2 miles of very lightly traveled back roads required to make the loop. There are two cable bridges to cross EACH WAY (heavy-duty wire cables - you walk across the lower cable while holding on to the upper cable with your hands). If you are unable to use the cable bridges, you will need to ford the creek, which will require you getting your feet wet, so plan appropriately. Persons of short stature (under five feet) may have difficulty with the cable bridges and need to ford the creek. Bring lunch and fluids.

Great company - beautiful day, despite the bugs and the poison ivy. Cable bridges were fun to cross.

i'm not familiar with the area. so just to clarify, this would be from 422 to 345 south (S Center Rd, not sure if the local signage says 82). then continue straight on to N Furnace Street which becomes S Furnace Street and then eventually Hay Creek Rd, which terminates at the park (the road closure you mentioned)?

i wasn't sure since i didn't see 82 anywhere on the map. and when i looked up the park, i got the same directions/instructions you provided.

    thanks in advance.

Yes, you have it right - take Hay Creek Rd to the road closure, and you'll see the very large parking area on the right-hand side. See you Saturday.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
