Photograph Christmas Lights

If you want to photograph Christmas lights, this is the place to be! Well known throughout the land, Koziar's Christmas Village have had Christmas displays since 1948 and keep adding and changing. Beyond the outside lights, there are also indoor displays (a good place to warm up) and snacks available (extra cost).

We'll go over some techniques for more interesting images and how to capture the lights in several different style.

I suggest arriving early since this is a very popular display and traffic backs up.

A tripod and remote cable release are recommended.

Your fee for this meetup includes entry to the attraction (but you must arrive before 6PM).

For those using PayPal, make sure you receive a confirmation that your payment went through properly (usually an email) and that the meetup page says "paid" under your name on the right.

This will be fun!

It was great to meet everyone and shoot some different kinds of shots. Luckily we completely avoided the rain and there were no crowds. And what a great light display they have! Thank you to Valerie too for helping out and her great ideas as well.

Understood and can't blame you. But many times the best images are shot in less than fun weather.

Latest radar shows us in a band of clearing with maybe a few little showers later on. http://www.wfmz.com/weather/hourly-wsi/-/22198072/-/pletvt/-/index.html

We're still going to do it however I don't think (my opinion) that it will be nearly as crowded so parking might be easier.

Based on several weather forecasts, I have decided to keep this meetup scheduled. Some forecast say the rain will stop by 6, others by 7. The rain should stop just after or before our arrival, if it is raining, we can use of the indoor displays until it stops. The wet ground should allow for some nice reflections. Wear footwear that won't slip and dress warm. See you there!

Valerie - are you available to car pool with? I have a hard time driving in the dark but I would pay you gas money if you could drive.

Wendy, where do you live? I am way out in Birdsboro, and have 3 people meeting at my house to drive. I'm not sure we have room for a 4th. We're also going to get there before 5pm.

Hi the payment to get in. Do you want me to pay via paypal? Account name? Or pay there?

    December 28, 2013

    • Joel S.

Since the weather is iffy right now, I would suggest paying there instead of PayPal, it is easier than creating a refund.

Any thoughts on the weather? Sounds like rain.

Right now it is looking like 10% chance of rain Sunday night. I'll make a final decision by 3PM on Sunday. If it looks icy, we'll cancel for sure.

Hi. What time is recommend that everyone meets? Is there a spot to meet at?

    December 23, 2013

    • Joel S.

We will meet at 6PM at the main entrance. I suggest arriving early due to traffic. Before Sunday, I will also send an email with my cell phone number included. If you arrive after 6PM and we have already entered, you will have to pay for a ticket to enter, call me and we will meetup inside.
