Motorsports Photography Workshop

Photograph a real race from the same position as the professional sports photographers! Join renowned motorsports photographer Dean Patton for this exclusive and rare opportunity. Dean photographs professionally for some of the biggest and most prestigious races in the United States as well as being the track photographer for Shellhammer's Speedway.

Join Dean on Saturday March 29th, 2014 from 10AM to 2PM for the orientation and safety review. This will be held at the Berks photographic Society building.

Then on a Saturday in April, go out to Shellhammer's Speedway with Dean to photograph a race. Only 5 people will be at a single race and Dean will take different groups on April weekends. You can choose the weekend on a first registered, first choice basis at the orientation. Track sessions will begin April 5th at 2:30PM. Dean and a member of the Berks Photographic Society will be on hand to answer your questions and help you get the best shots.

Note that the orientation is mandatory, only those attending the orientation will be allowed to go to the track.

Your registration fee includes both the orientation and one day at the track. It also includes two professionally printed images from your shots printed by Dean.

Space is limited so sign up soon!

Below you will find a few samples from Dean's portfolio of awesome images.

Great workshop. Am really looking to get to the track and see what it is like to photograph it. Hopefully will be going a few times this year. Thanks to Dean for all the tips and a great presentation.

As I am instructing in the class I just want to point out that most Motorsports Photographers do it their way, but all just want to get the shot safely. We will be talking about getting credentialed, photography equipment, and some techniques that most of us use already. I will give some incite on storage, cataloging, and also getting some info on streamlining work-flo that will come from the experience of us all. Everyone has ideas and suggestions, mine may not be right for you, but feel free to share.
