Getting Started With Rust (language)

NOTE: This is a replacement topic from the previous beginner topic because of lack of beginner signups.

Rust is a programming language with a focus on type safety, memory safety, concurrency and performance. It is intended for writing large-scale, high-performance software that is free from several classes of common errors.

We'll be going through a Rust tutorial together to get a handle on this new and intriguing language. It is a project started by Mozilla, mostly as  a way to replace its large C++ codebase with better concurrency and safety without losing any performance. It has received high praise and seems like something that should be on many people's radar.
