A Murphey's Irish Stout I accidentally ordered two years ago in Amsterdam completely changed my opinion on stouts and bitters (much for the better, obviously!). A London Pride did the same for me with proper Ales. Newcastle Brown Ale is probably what originally taught be there is more to life than lagers.
Jever. It has by far the most flavour of any mainstream German beer I've tried and has a nice hoppy refreshing kick to it (I'm talking mostly about the Helles and Pils as Weißbier isn't really my thing and the Dunkels are OK but a bit disappointing).
IPAs, British Ales, Stouts, and Bitters.
Overall, no, because it stifles creativity and limits options. That said, there is more to creative brewing than adding fruit, berries, chocolate, or other gimicky nonsense, and I think maybe some other countries' beer scenes could benefit from this law. That last line may have been somewhat facetious.
Hey there, I'm James. Originally from Canada, I've been living in Berlin for several months now and would love to find some good beer here in Berlin and meet some new people!
