Berlin Hack and Tell #8 - in/hackable

Hackers unite!

2012 - the end is near! Let's meet for the first time this year and show hacks as long as we can. ;-)

For the 9th time c-base, our kind host, is an official partner for the transmediale 2012 and put up a full schedule titled "be future in/compatible". We are proud to be an official part of this program and hope to blow everybody away.

This time our sponsor will be moviepilot. So every hacker will enjoy their slice of free pizza in the break between the demos.

As always we won't want to limit the kind or relation of hacks. Demo cool stuff, no matter if it's an mobile app, website, desktop program or library. BUT: We'd be very happy if you want to demo something we've never seen or heard before - just hack our senses! Anything is allowed, just cross the line to awesomeness - and if it fails it should do it really beautiful.

There are not many rules, but:

  • You get 5 Minutes to present in English
  • people can ask you afterwards
  • NO PURE SLIDEDECKS, no pitches, only Demos + Code

If you come, tell us through Meetup. If you want to present, tell us in the registration form. And if you have feedback please send it to [masked]. Our relaxed event will only as good as everybody makes it. Bring your hacks and your friends and join us for the evening.

HACK THE PLANET!

Cheers,
Tobias and Stefan, your Berlin Hack & Tell organizers

PS: We know it's "unhackable" but the motto of the Transmediale is "in/compatible".

i guess this is the only way to respond to comments, it wasn't a sewing machine, it's a knitting machine, and what i presented was universal for any machine with a keypad or row and column button matrix. it was completely new, and the first time i presented it anywhere. and it's open hardware. and i'm giving it away. sheesh.

less presentations as some other times, not that interesting hacks and some of them were repeated/continued hacks - the electronic sewing machine and the teletext idea, so not that exciting.

Many talks were about the same topic as old ones, with little progress.
Some talks were great, as always.

@Bernd: I think I heard that there won't be black light table tennis this week. But I could be wrong.

I'm on the list, but unable to come. :(

For some reason I can't seem to remove myself though?

You can just come by and raise your hand when asked for a presentation. Fair and easy.

Do I actually get a respond when I get a slot to present or can I just go whenever I want?
