Berlin Hack and Tell #11 - birthday bash

Hackers unite!

In June of[masked] people met for the first time at c-base to share their hacks and experiences. Now, one year later our small meetup has grown into a regular happening for the Berlin developer community testing the capacity limits of c-base.

To celebrate our 1st birthday accordingly our friends of Soundcloud are throwing us a bad-ass Barbecue at sundown.

In order to make the most of this and have enough time to party we'll change the schedule this time:

We'll start around 7pm and will pull through until 8.20pm. After our regular "flea market" we are ready to storm outside to enjoy the BBQ and the sunset along the river Spree.

For your presentation there are not many rules, but:

  • You'll get 5 Minutes to present in English
  • You or your team should have built it yourself
  • People can ask questions afterwards
  • NO PURE SLIDEDECKS, no pitches, only Demos + Code

If you to come, tell us through Meetup. If you want to present, tell us in the registration form. And if you have feedback please send it to [masked]. Remember: Our relaxed event will only as good as everybody makes it, so bring your hacks and your friends and join us for the evening.

HACK THE PLANET!

Cheers,
Tobias, Keith and Stefan, your Berlin Hack and Tell organizers

great hacks, especially the whatsapp hack!
Thanks to Soundcloud for the great BBQ, especially for not forgetting the non-meat-eaters!

The BBQ gave the event a different touch compared to the usual Pizza Hack and Slash

Es könnten zu Anfang schon die ersten drei oder mehr Speaker bestimmt werden, dann wäre der Break zwischen den einzelnen Vorstellungen nicht "so" lang. :-)

Hey guys, I started a summary thread where all presenters can add some info+links about their hacks.

Also Keith uploaded some photos. Add your's to the album, too.

I like being surprised by cool hacks and am always excited to see, what fellow hackers have come up with. Some more organization upfront would have helped making the event even better. Why not have a list where those who want to present put down their names at the very beginning to prevent the awkward pauses?

Hey Jörg! I don't think it will be vegan.

    May 25, 2012

  • Jörg L.

Eliot, sounds good! Do you know if its vegan? (else I bring some own stuff, no problem!)

    May 25, 2012

  • Eliot

There will be veggie eats as well at the BBQ

I wonder if some people confirm attendance but at the end don't show up and others miss the event because of them. If there are such, they should be in the waiting list next time.

I also wonder if others show up without confirmation despite fullness.

Does Meetup have easy features to check such things? If not, we should implement them in http://grical.org

  • Stefan H.

Sansan, if you are on the waiting list it's hard to tell if you'll get in but I can tell you that up until the event people are canceling and other people get their seat. So please be patient and watch your mailbox. :-)

  • Stefan H.

You are right, Jörg. I hope we get this sorted out but to be really really sure you might bring some own stuff. Can't guarantee it right now.

    BBQ sounds great!
It would be cool to have some vegeterian and vegan stuff for the BBQ too!

As always: We reserved some seats for people who want to share hacks. Ping us if you are still on the waiting list.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
