Hey hackers,

I hope you went outside using the rare sun to hack there. It's wonderful, you should try it some time.

YouIsNow, the startup incubator of our very first sponsor ImmobilienScout24, is holding a kick-off event of their brand new startup lab on September 23th ( 5pm ) through to September 25th (11pm).

They're hosting a StartupWeekend where anybody can pitch their idea, but in only 60 seconds. (Sounds familiar?).

We, the hackers, can sit there, sip our Coke/Mate/Beer and listen to the pitches. After hearing all of them the jury decides it's favorites but you can cherry-pick any idea and build a team. If you're at least three you can stay the weekend and develop and plan the idea further powered by experienced mentors. Food and drinks are provided as well! Over the weekend the idea will grow, a business model, logo, design, website, prototype will emerge hopefully and in the end presented to jury.

The best performances will receive a money price, a free month time in the lap including mentors and a lot of valuable contacts.

So if you are fed up with your current job or just want to see what's out there and have some hacker fun over the weekend you should totally come there.

As a special promotion YouIsNow provided us a few free tickets. So we're calling out on all ninjas of

  • Android,
  • iPhone,
  • Rails,
  • Node.js,
  • PHP,
  • HTML(5)/CSS/Javascript,
  • (Web-) Design

to make a stand. Normally the tickets would cost 65 Euros but we can get you in for free - if you convince us!

To participate tweet a message to @berlinhackntell with hashtag #swYIN11 or write an email to berlin@hackandtell.org explaining in not more than 140 chars why should get in for free. Why are you the perfect fit for a startup weekend?

Tips: It's always helpful to state your skills or links to recent projects/jobs.

Questions to this competition or to the lab will be answered on our mail address, too.

Looking forward to see you at the StartupWeekend!

Happy hacking!

Stefan
