I definitely like the indoors as well as the outdoors, so what I love most about Phoenix is that it has the best of both. There is an infinite variety of bars/restaurants and other great indoor venues, but just down the road is a scenic national park with great hiking trails.
I live at 16th Street and Northern (right next to Dreamy Draw park), and my job's in Mesa. I work a pretty standard schedule (Monday-Friday, 8 to 5), so weekends are definitely ideal, although I'm still up for the occasional post-work happy hour.
Currently I participate in running groups as well as hike. I also like trying new places and new events (i.e., the Chandler Ostrich festival - I know it's not a new event but it was to me this year:) I am interested in doing more traveling, even if it's just a trip up to the northern part of AZ for a change of scenery. I would also love to spend a day or a weekend out on one of the very scenic lakes in the area. Additionally, I'm interested in checking out concerts/local shows with live music, visiting art exhibits, and wine tasting.
I moved here in 2005 from Pennsylvania, but I've lived in various parts of Phoenix (Peoria, Scottsdale, Ahwatukee, and my current location). I find that even after all the time I've spent out here there are still plenty of new places and events I have yet to see.
I've lived in Phoenix for several years and still love exploring the area. Mostly I'm interested in the outdoors, shows with live music (especially local bands), art exhibits, trying new restaurants, and of course - meeting new people!
