I've lived in San Diego for 14 years and, unfortunately, live in a rather unwalkable neighborhood. Would love to see it become more walkable, and to learn how other neighborhoods have accomplished that.
I like to be able to enjoy the gorgeous San Diego weather, stretch my legs and get my heart pumping, and not have to worry about finding parking places!
I walk a lot in Mission Trails Park, and I also drive to places in town that have nice walks, such as OB, Banker's Hill, etc.
More and better maintained and landscaped sidewalks with some distance/protection from the streets, automatic cross-walk lights, longer pedestrian green lights, narrower streets, more shops with street entrances rather than strip malls, more parks in the city, better and more inexpensive public transportation.
