March Book Selection: The Traveler - Welcome to Dubai by Omar Tyree. (Pages 296)

When American Gary Stevens decides to explore the immaculate tourism haven of Dubai in the Middle East, he finds much more than he bargained for. Plans for a peaceful and harmless visit to the exotic land of seven-star hotels, international culture, food and shopping, quickly change when Gary attracts the attention of a beautiful, rebellious and enticing Muslim woman. Gary stumbles into a violent labor revolt triggered by the death of a poor immigrant construction worker, who falls from one of Dubai’s hundreds of fast-developing buildings.

Gary becomes entangled in the uprising when the radicals take hundreds of international tourists hostage at the same hotel where Gary is staying. To make matters worse, these zealots include the older brother of the beautiful Muslim woman who has fallen for Gary.

With nonstop action and cultural intrigue, Welcome to Dubai is the first full book in The Traveler series created by Omar Tyree. Gary Stevens was introduced by Tyree in the e-book prequel, No Turning Back, in January 2013.

FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN READING No Turning Back:

(eBook:Pages132)

In an increasingly multicultural world of billions of people, places, things and stories to tell, The Traveler - No Turning Back will give readers a front row seat to experience the exciting adventures, exotic love affairs and the endless danger of a man afraid of nothing, who is willing to try everything. No Turning Back features Kentucky born and bred protagonist, Gary Stevens. After his mother and best friend are viciously murdered, Gary sets out to avenge their deaths. Confronted with a huge inheritance, he learns how to survive and thrive in the underworld of money and espionage. He becomes a new man, a new hero ready to fight for the rights of the oppressed, and eliminate all who stand in his way.

Hi Ladies, Unfortunately Shirley's Cafe is refusing to accomodate a party of our size. Beyond Books is relocating to Donna's Cafe which is a very short distance away. Please update your RSVP if you are not able to attend. Also, please know that Tamar expresses her deepest apology for any inconvenience this may cause. You can ask for Beyond Books upon arrival at Donna's Cafe. If you are attending, please post a comment so that we will know you have received the location change. Thanks so much for your patience.

Although I missed the opportunity this month to submit a suggestion, I have voted. Looking forward to finally meet you guys this for March meeting. Perhaps Barbara Chase-Riboud's "Hottentot Venus" can be a consideration for April's meeting.

God bless and have a wonderful day!.
