BH3 Paintball

For those who got the LivingSocial deal, and for those who didn’t, let’s do a day of paintball. I have a way to make this a Hash. We divide into teams (maybe the Hares and the Hounds!) and do battle. Or, everyone can carry flour and the idea would be to lead people to your real location or set them up for an ambush. Either way, let's go shoot each other (safely, of course!)

The place is Hurricane Mountain. The place allows us to bring food and drinks inside, which is somewhat unusual. Given the distance (about 80 miles), it makes sense to carpool if we can.

I haven't put Hashcash for this one, because I think at least three people had their ticket paid for by the LivingSocial special and have said they would use the money they saved to buy an equal amount of beer.

Christopher, do you have an estimate on what time we will be back in Birmingham?

I just saw this. There will be multiple cars, and I imagine regardless we would be back by 7. Paintball shouldn't go longer than till 2.

Just noticed that the voucher requires that you call ahead for reservations. This is also stated on their FB page in response to a question someone posted. I did not do that. Did you guys (the organizers) call ahead & make reservations for those of us that RSVP'd??

Yes. I told them that we have about 17 coming.

Those who have been paintballing before have suggested that instead of hauling food and such to the park, that we will all probably be cold and sore and want to head inside somewhere. I think this is a good idea. There is a restaurant in the area, Cooter Brown’s, that I have heard about before and some have suggested for down down. Thoughts?

If anyone is interested in carpooling to Hurricane Mountain this Saturday, let’s meet at Bass Pro Shops in Leeds at 8:45 and leave at 9. We can meet at the in the paved upper level lot at the top of the hill there. According to Google, it’s an hour and a half to our destination. I’ve changed the start time to 10:30 to reflect this. Allen has offered to carpool and can carry 4 or 5, and I can take my truck (also 4 or 5). If one or two more people offer, that’d be good and that makes more sense than taking 13 cars. As of today, Sweetjack.com is running the same $30 special that LivingSocial ran: http://www.sweetjack.com/local/deal/birmingham/hurricanemountainpaintball

If anyone wants to volunteer to drive that’d be great!

FYI - If anyone did not get the LivingSocial deal, SweetJack.com has a 50% of deal today.
