Newest Finds from Tel Kabri

Dr. Eric Cline is Chair of the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations and Director of the George Washington University Capitol Archaeological Institute, and Co-Dig Director at Tel Kabri.

Dr. Cline will be joined by Ariel Polokoff, the most recent BASONOVA college scholarship recipient, to describe new discoveries at the Canaanite site of Tel Kabri in northern Israel. Earlier seasons' excavations unexpectedly revealed Minoan-style frescoes (possibly the earliest-known Western art found in the Eastern Mediterranean), a large palace complex dating to circa 1700 BCE, and a temple whose rooms are lined with carved orthostat blocks. What has happened since?
