Tour & History of the Coptic Church

We will have a tour & history of this beautiful church by Robie Samanta Roy, St. Mark Docent.

Members of the DC Chapter of the American Research Center in Egypt (ARCE) will be joining us:

St. Mark is considered to have founded the Coptic Church in the first century CE. Coptic Orthodoxy split from Roman Catholics in the mid-fifth century CE over theological issues, and became the accepted religion of most Egyptians until the mid-seventh century CE.

Social time - 2:00 PM

Tour & Lecture - 3:00 PM

Attendees will have time to socialize.    Light refreshments will be available  starting at 2:00 pm in the Church gymnasium prior to the tour and lecture.

The Church gift shop will also be open for those interested in purchasing keepsakes.
