Sorry about that, it took me a bit by surprise as well. I guess that's what happens when you cut out 7 miles and have the same amount of vertical! I recued several different options last night that range from 43-52 miles and all have much less dirt and less vertical, more on the range of 85-90 ft/mile vs the 95ft/mile we did. Don't have the one that feels right yet but working on it.

Now you tell me ! (route harder than previous years). Well, what is it they say....that which doesn't kill us (or our bike) makes us stronger :).
The area and scenery and weather top notch, and enjoyed riding with you nice gentlemen......thanks for organizing Mike.

Great ride, this route harder than previous years. To re-cue with a bit less dirt and move the lunch stop up to a little earlier in the ride.

Those wanting to car pool meet in the pick-up drop-off area of the Alewife MBTA Garage at 0745 on 9/21 for bike and rider consolidation. For those that park cars, the charge is $7
    cheers,
    Mike

I would bring a road bike vs mtb, but it should have either a triple or be a compact double. If you bring an mtb it should have either road slick or semi slick tires. Personally in bringing a touring bike with a triple, very wide gear range with road slick 700x32 tires.

Is this ride better done with a skinny tire road bike or with a good quality mountain bike?
