Awesome. The usually great H&F ride we have come to expect. Wonderful ride on Mt. Tam. And even better company and after-ride treats!

It would appear as of now that forecasters are predicting some morning rain and then partly cloudy with some sun. That said, steady rain cancels this ride, and as of now it does not appear to be a steady movement. If this event is cancelled (which in unlikely), this Meetup will be updated by no later than 7:30am on Sunday morning. Thanks and see you out there. Dress warm!

Thank you Bryce for straightening things out. I copied the link from the e-mail from Josh but I guess there were issues with it in meetup (it seems to work fine for me).

Gmail links only work for the user who owns that account (you can't share them). You need to copy and paste to somewhere else like the Meetup or a Google doc.

Forecast calls for over 50% chance rain in Mill Valley Sunday, but dry Saturday. Is this ride still likely a go?

I have never been on a group ride or anything to do like this would it still be a good ideal for me to go on this ride

This would be a great ride for you. The ride leaders are the best! Go have fun.

The H&F ride leaders are absolutely fantastic! But, a note from my experience, and as indicated in the below excerpts (that for some reason didn’t format as another bullet point), the H&F rides are truly intermediate (and then some!). Unlike the monthly Gala rides that split into an A group (expert), a B group (intermediate), and a C group (moderate/beginner), the H&F rides I’ve been on have not had separate groups (but an elite group has split off for more terrain and then caught back up with the rest), so if you are a beginner, this wouldn’t be the best ride to start with. But you will have to make that call. I do not wish to discourage anyone, in fact I like to challenge, but I do know that getting in over your head is not good for everyone. Check the description below and if you are comfortable with it, see you there!
Josh, if you see this and I have misspoken, please jump in and correct me!

here's some excerpts from Josh on the ride...

*about 2 hours long (actual ride time), about 17-19mi, about 2600'+/- of elevation gain.
*a mix of redwood singletrack, hard packed dirt fire roads, rocky/root laden trail, flowy singletrack, spectacular views and rocky dirt roads.
*technical aspect would be considered intermediate, with a bit of fast singletrack trail and sharp steep climbs. At least one gradual climb up the mountain (middle chainring), and a steep unforgiving climb out of Muir Beach. A mix of singletrack trails that have some techy bits will be challenging. A slightly more technical descent may become an option.

There is limited parking at the Mountain Home Inn on Panoramic Hwy. It is absolutely crucial that we CARPOOL! We will offer a few different vehicles for carpool from the bike shop, however if you plan on driving directly, bring your friend who was going to meet you there....
