http://www.davidsride.com/
Rest stops will be located every 10-15 miles on each route. They will be stocked with water, gatorade, fruit, pickles, cookies and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. You are sure to be greeted with a smile and encouraging words to get you through the rest of your ride. Rest Stops will be open until the last rider of the group has made it through to that particular rest stop.
Our Good Samaritans (SAG wagons) will patrol the routes to transport riders in need to either the next available rest stop or back to the church. There will be a mechanic at the church available to fix minor bicycle repairs before the ride starts. Please be prepared to fix your own flats. Air pumps will be available at each rest stop.
Homemade breakfast tacos will be provided for all riders before the ride starting at 6:00 am. After you have completed your designated route, we will also provide a free lunch for all riders beginning at 11:00 am. Rest assure you will not go home hungry.

hmmmm, sorry to hear that, I did see only a two people total from the group, but in that mess when we go on organized rides it becomes almost impossible to find one another. I arrived right on time and left pretty late, I found AJ (or rather she found me!) and she passed me several times during the event. When we ride at these events all that can be done is give me a call.

I didn't actually meet any of people from Alamo cycle and multisports. Mayne next time I come this way for a ride.. I started out with the 70 milers and so ahead that when it came to the split where blur goes right and red left I went right turn cause the young flag boy pointed right. I got lost looking for more red markers and there were none.. at 51 miles on my odo I ended up back at that split that's when I figured out what I did wrong so I did the whole blue route back to McQueeny.. 68 miles total.. and then my Tia was broke down at the last rest stop on the 70 mile route . I rode in to help her and back now totaling my miles to 80. Well lesson learned. Next time I stay with a group.

Did the 40 miler. Wasn't too tough except for a hill or two. The ride was well organized, route clearly marked and the people extremely friendly.

I'm going.. I live in Houston Tx and driving in for this. So some one tell me something I might not know about this ride. Do you guys think two water bottles is enough? 10-15 miles I can refuel at those rest areas.. It's hot in H-town. How hot is it there?

    • Ruben Perez ".

Right on Alex.. that's the dilemma camelbak or no camelbak..

      July 2, 2013

    • Henry and Michelle R.

I'd say no Camelback. We did one in May (70 miler) and 2 bottles was enough considering they had refueling stations every 10-15 miles.

I want to do the 70 miles... anyone else signing up for that route?

    May 3, 2013

It is a little bit of everything. I do not remember alot of chip seal, but then again I am a old soldier and feel little pain due to the fact that I have nerve damage in more places than I would like to admit. The last time I went on Davids ride it was for the most part average. But they do change the route here and there. I am gonna go for some rough road and not as smooth as you would like it to be as an answer. :(

Thanks Glen! I hope to at least drive this years route before ride day... I would like to see it before I commit.
