We are glad to announce that with the help of the San Antonio cycling community, the Pena family myself, a slew of local bike shops, gourmet food trucks, beer breweries, and volunteers we have the 5th annual "Tour De Toob" ready for you!!!
If you don't know what TDT is, it's a 40 mile bike journey from Southtown San Antonio to the Comal River. This is not a race, it is a fun ride open to everyone, all types of bikes and skill levels, ladies you are encouraged to ride. TDT is intended to give everyone a chance to challenge yourself (especially if you have never ridden far) to ride your bicycle from one city to another and NO ONE gets left behind!
I know you will have several questions as to what, where, and how; if I don't answer your questions below please feel free to post questions here or message me. 1.There is only one bike requirement and that is a safety inspection to ensure your bike is road ready when you register for TDT. There are 2 local bike shops and the "Bottom Bracket Social Club" to register at and get your bike inspected. If you live out of town contact us for safety inspection details.
2.. To get us all in shape and prepared for TDT there are several different training rides usually held by the amazing Michelle Araneta. Times and dates will be posted here soon.
3. How do I sign up for TDT?? beginning June 2nd you can register by bringing your bike into one of these two awesome bike shops "Incognito Bicycles" or "Rad Rides Bicycle Shop" or you can go to the "Bottom Bracket Social Club" and fill out the required paper work and pay the tour fee.
4. How much dose TDT cost and whats included? for only $40 bucks, we start the morning off with breakfast tacos + fruit, the entire ride will have several support vehicles. This means some where to put your bag so you don't have to carry it. Water, snacks and a bicycle mechanic on each truck with tools to assist you if you need any help. Your Toob for the float is included and a meal from one of gourmet food trucks as your lunch is provided. Shit tons of craft beer kegs are provided but we encourage every one to bring a little bottle of your favorite libation or a 12 pack because cans are now allowed on the river. After the float transportation for your bike back to san antonio is provided and also a bus ride for your self is also provided. All in all it is a hell of a deal. No one profits from TDT we do it because we love it. Any registrations after June 24th will be charged a ten dollar late registration fee.
5. Join this face book event if you plan on attending the ride, additional information updates and training ride schedules will be posted here.
P.S. We always recommend padded bicycle shorts, our asses swear by them they work! If you don't have a pair, give it a try. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
