What's your interest in Big Data?

I starting coding HTML last century for Xerox europe (then Rank Xerox), then moving through Javascript, PHP, ASP, SQL, XML, JQuery, ...and I've just been introduced to the D3 code library which brings data into my responsive HTML5. I've coded multi-lingual, multi-currency, geo-coded data driven websites, & recently hacked 40 Galaxy Ace's to attach 3 ethiopian keyboards, so we could collect maternal health stats, without the need for our surveyors to translate questions back and forth (improving my data quality in the process). I need to compare intervention areas, with control areas. To do this, I grabbed geo-coded polygons from the 'open source' world bank's KML's (google's geo-coded XML files). I work with big datasets, and I see data flows, and patterns - in a very visual way. I need to find a professional outlet for this passion. I feel like a square peg, who's found the square hole. Which makes me feel calm, and excited at the same time. Yay, for big data.

Introduction

I'm an IT contractor (web, databases, and enterprise reporting). I write & adapt raw code, and enjoy making data look easy. I have a postgraduate business qualification which helps me anticipate my clients needs (I speak english as well as techie)
