Big Data Brighton Message Board › Hackathon Gallery - this Saturday
Just a quick reminder about the hackathon gallery event this Saturday at the Uni of Brighton (Grand Parade site)
Some incredible work was produced last weekend during the 48hr hackathon on the theme of the financial crisis including some new and compelling insights on the impact of the financial crisis on housing and community, the unhealthy affect quantitative easing has had on the rich vs poor divide, and the spiralling cost of living.
At the gallery there will also be the chance to play with motion-controlled visualisations (using Leap Motion technology) - including a timeline of the key events of the crisis and a Google Earth, stock market data treasure hunt! We also built an addictive computer game from scratch where you play the role of an investment banker.
Gallery open to the public 11.00 – 17.30
Evening reception 19.30 – 21.30 [including presentations about the hackathon and free drinks ;-)]
Guests are welcome. Please sign up to the evening either by RSVPing to the meetup or using the event sign-up: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/event/8167540333
Hope to see you on Saturday.
