Big Data Gods Message Board › Meetups for the rest of the month

How are you all doing? I hope all of you are busy building your recommendation engines. For the new members who just joined us - welcome and thanks for being a part of our group. We are a hands-on, developer focused, big data meetup group that solves specific analytical problems on a NoSQL platform in a scrum format. We had originally planned for one month scrums with weekly sprints. But, based on feedback from a lot of our members, we have changed it to a two month scrum with two week sprints. We are currently in our first scrum, which started in May. We are building recommendation engines using collaborative filtering algorithms on MongoDB. Several teams are already busy working on their projects.
Thanks to Ken Nakagama, one of our members who took extraordinary efforts to get us HP cloud sponsorhip, we now have HP Cloud services available for our teams to host their projects (Note: The access will be team-based not invidual). We are facing some issues with our venue. We are also trying very hard to get sponsorship for our remaining hackathon and meetups. We will announce that as soon as we hear from any of our potential sponsors.
In the meanwhile, please continue with your development. Please also take a look at https://github.com/on... for sample code (ruby needed) to load the MovieLens data set in to MongoDB. I will update that project with more information about the data model later in the week. Happy Coding!
