Our first anniversary meetup! This event will be emceed by Daniel Walters, featuring the following talks:
1) "Driving Revenue Through Analytics" - Siah Hark Cheong.
Abstract: "This talk will present techniques and case studies on the usage of data mining from customer databases and how this translates into actionable sales execution that yields revenue."
2) "How Netapp uses Hadoop to deliver better customer experiences" - Khoo Swee Chuan.
Abstract: "For every piece of equipment sold, Netapp usually encourages a feature called “autosupport” to be enabled, to allow NetApp to better support the customer, by providing suggestions on performance and reliability. It is in the form of a package of unstructured data with logs and system diagnostic information. Currently we process about 900K of incoming data every week with about 3-5MB in size each. We have about close to 240billions record for pattern recognition, previously there is no way to run any analytics, now take less than 1 day. Our solution also makes the Hadoop architecture more efficient by removing some redundancy without sacrificing availability."
This event is hosted by the iTrain Developer Playground, which is close to Ampang Park LRT Station.
This event, like all our events, is free an open to anyone - so do join us, and invite anyone whom you think might be interested!
