Describe your interest in Big Data.

Psychology suffers from the artificial conditions of its data collection. We would increase the validity of our research if we could base more of our inferences on the data that people generate in the course of their everyday life.

What would you like to learn from this group?

More about sources of data, available analytic tools and the jargon of Big Data users.

Do you have suggestions on program formats or topics?

Not currently.

Are you interested in helping to organize? Or more interested in hanging in the back of the class...

More interested in hanging back, for the moment.

Do you have connections in the Big Data industry you're open to approaching? (guest speakers, venue sponsorship, etc)

Not yet.

I have a PhD in Cognitive Psychology. I am currently teaching at Trinity University and helping to write a book on the effects of stress at a societal level.
