How can Hadoop integrate with existing enterprise data warehousing solutions?
Pre 1990s, hardware was the critical part; in 2000s, software became the differentiator, and today data is the power!
Data warehousing and analytics has become the lifeline of any businesses. Earlier, businesses had traditional RDBMS for doing data warehousing & analytics, it was followed by data warehouse specific databases and now we have SMPs, MPPs/Appliances serving the data warehouses.
But increasing data volume demands, varied and dynamic data structures and increased performance expectations have challenged the traditional data warehouses in a big way.
That's where Hadoop comes to the rescue of the Enterprise Data Warehouses. Organizations can now scale to new levels by augmenting the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) with Hadoop and can save millions of dollars on the infrastructure.
Sheetal Dolas -- Solution Architect at Hortonworks -- will talk to us about how Enterprises are adopting Hadoop.
Sticking to our meetup’s format, there will be no formal presentations but just the white board, Sheetal and you!
