Ben Taylor, the principal data scientist for HireVue, will be demonstrating how to find and join a variety of new datasets.
The data types will range from simple to complex satellite feeds (e.g. MODIS urban extent, cloud cover data) that require transformations and scripting to make them useful. Ben will also discuss proper interpolation techniques for mapping values to desired locations where data may not be present and visualization methods when dealing with geolocation data and time series geolocation data. Also, several synthesized datasets will be shown where raw data is processed using equations or scripts to make new data items.
We would like as many people as we can on site, and if you come, you'll be enjoying pizza for lunch.
