"Tow Path Tuesdays"

Ongoing - "Tow Path Tuesdays" (Open Riding for All Types of Bikes!) This Tuesdays ride is the one that started it all... a scenic, relatively flat ride of 10 miles along the Champlain and Erie Canal Tow Path. Starting at the Van Schaick Pond in Cohoes, we will pass the historic Van Schaick Mansion, pedal over the newly extended bike path on our way to Peebles Island. We will pedal alongside the old canal and traverse the lock system. Out and back is around 10 miles. The tow path is packed gravel so the fatter the tire, the better. Be at the Bike Barn @ 6pm or meetup at the ride starting point, Van Schaick Pond at 6:15pm.

"Tow Path Tuesdays" are recreational rides aimed at getting people out on their bikes in a fun social environment. Ride at your own relaxed pace! Entry level riders and those just getting back into it, this is your day to soak in the sun and surroundings. Rides typically start at the Bike Barn at 6pm but can vary from week to week so call us to check on the starting point for that week (238-BIKE). These rides are weather permitting and will encompass bike paths, canal paths, urban riding and points of interest. Most rides are considered to be easy so dust off your bike and join us!

Joseph, Helmets are required. I am usually too busy to call people regarding the ride statusbut I will make an exception if possible.

Jill, The pond is near the Van Schaick Country Club @ 201 Continental Ave. Go over Ontario Street heading east, turn right at Cumberland Farms. Go 1/8 mile, you will see the pond on your left just past the tennis courts.

If I can get out of work in time (and if it doesn't rain like I hear it's suppose to), then I'll meet you at the pond. Just one question: Where is Van Schaick Pond? I drive through Van Schaick Is. almost every day to get to work, but I can't say I've noticed a pond anywhere around there. Thanks.
