EBBC Climate Ride Training Ride #2: Oakland to Fremont

Each year the East Bay Bicycle Coalition hosts a team on the California Climate Ride, a 4-day bike ride that raises funds for green causes such as sustainability and bike advocacy. To help get people ready for the event we are hosting a series of training rides starting in February, with our second being a 32-mile ride from Oakland to Fremont on February 15th.

Everyone is welcome to participate in any of the training rides, whether they are joining us on the Climate Ride or not. This particular Oakland-Fremont ride is a flat one, with an option to cut it short at the Downtown Hayward BART station around mile 16. This is a no-drop ride so we will make sure nobody gets left behind regardless of speed.

Complete details about our Climate Ride team, as well as the full training ride schedule including the dates, times, locations, and routes, can be found online at www.ebbc.org/climateride. We would love to have more folks from the Fremont area join us on the Climate Ride, or just come hang out with us and have some fun on a training ride.

Robert, our apologies. Jenny Kassan and I can't make it tomorrow. We're both getting over a cold that is lingering longer than we would like. :( We'll definitely join you for future rides.

The weather is looking good for our ride tomorrow, with temps in the mid to high 50s, high humidity, and a less than 10% chance of precipitation. This means it is a good idea to dress in layers and bring plenty of water.

A downloadable route sheet is posted online at http://document.li/AL81 (just click on "Download original PDF file" to access it). There will be some copies available at the ride start, but if you can please print out and bring your own. This ride has plenty of turns so we will try to stick together, but it is also a good chance to work on our route sheet reading skills!

A link to a route map is provided in the event description above, but for those of you who prefer Google Maps here is an alternate link: http://goo.gl/maps/EqZRz
