David Goodsell: Molecular Visualization – Where Science & Art Meet

I’m thrilled to announce a fabulous guest speaker to BioCurious. David Goodsell is an icon in the field of molecular visualization – his beautiful illustrations are biologically correct, and simply gorgeous. Come hear David talk about the science behind his famous cell paintings, and get his thoughts on how he combines science and art to present the world of cells and their components in ways that make biochemistry accessible to the non-specialist.

We’ll have a number of copies of his The Machinery of Life available for purchase (and signing). To reserve a book before the meetup, please send an email to: [masked]

David S. Goodsell is an associate professor in the Department of Molecular Biology at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. He is the author of several books including “The Machinery of Life”.
