Who will be hosting this event? What experience do the hosts have working with children and in childhood education and or childhood science education? And how can I insure that children at this event will be properly supervised? Do adults need to accompany their children in the lab? Isn't grade 5 to grade 12 a very large range? I can't imagine 10 yr olds being interested in the same things an 18 yr old is, particularly when high school kids today are working with PCRs in school.
What specific activities will the group be engaged in?

Just checking, Anne. Is that a question or agreement or did the comment page just do something weird.

Agreement - There are no laws in California, at what age a youth can babysit or be left home alone. In-fact a youth can also be emancipated, at 14 years old.

I've been at BioCurious since the beginning of 2012...never heard of a youth club. We've had classes on Saturday mornings for kids...

If all of this can be worked out, it might be a nice club.

I suggested the meet up, because someone asked me to post it. In way, shape or form, have I ever stated I am the host. It is a suggested meet up - that's all. But I do hope it can be worked out, as there are lots of youths who would like to attend.

I don't think that's a good enough guarantee. I wouldn't want to be the person making the judgment about who and who isn't a responsible parent.

      Are you a parent?
