Curious about the science behind biotech? Join a group of like-minded enthusiasts as we work through Alberts' Molecular Biology of the Cell.
Once a week, we read a section of the book and meet to discuss it for two hours. By the end, you should have a firm grasp on the vocabulary and concepts of modern molecular biology. With this foundation, you’ll be able to follow lab-based classes easier and start coming up with ideas of your own!
(Note that we are getting close to the end with this current series, but feel free to join us if you don't mind jumping in mid-stream. Otherwise, we will be restarting the whole series in July or August.)
This session we're going to have a discussion of chapter 24, focusing on the sections on pathogens. Next week we will continue to the section on innate immunity.
Prerequisite / Corequisite:
Class is open to all those who are in or have had high school biology.
