Saturday Morning Science! Taste & Smell

10 am to noon
Taught by Mark Kent

Taste and Smell
Learn how taste and smell work as we map our tongues and how we identify smells.

Our senses of taste and smell are tied together both chemically and biologically. If we look at taste alone, there are only four flavors: sweet, sour, bitter, and salt. Smells, on the other hand, are practically unlimited, and can be very complex combinations: consider an expensive perfume, with its wide array of fragrances, all of which combine to give the overall fragrance that is the perfume.

Price is per child attending, parent or guardian can attend class with child for no additional fee. $30 for non-members, $20 for members of BioCurious*

Saturday Morning Science is for ages 5 and up. Under 7 require an adult present to assist them with the lab.
